Division 186

Division 186 represents Professional, Scientific, & Technical (PS&T) employees at the NYS Department of Tax & Finance and Department of State for Region 12.  We are a division of the Public Employees Federation (PEF) union.

Services

Representation

Division stewards are available to provide assistance to employees across various areas. We collaborate with local, regional, and statewide resources to serve as the initial point of contact at the work site or as needed. Our aim is to proactively address issues to prevent escalation whenever possible. We are also equipped to communicate with supervisors/managers on behalf of employees. Through the Labor-Management Committee, we have the capability to directly engage with human resources at the agency to address a range of concerns. If necessary, we will collaborate with various PEF offices and committees to escalate matters appropriately.

The Division is committed to keeping members informed about their rights and available resources under the PEF Contract, as well as relevant federal, state, and local policies.
